FAQ's

"Do I need to plan anything before the photo shoot?"
No, I’ll do all the planning for you! I’ll speak to you in the week leading up to the photo session and all I ask is that you have an idea of what you want the photos for. Also have a look through my galleries to see what sort of images appeal to you. Together we will then come up with some ideas to ensure that I capture the kind of images that you want.

"Where will the photo session take place?"
The most important factor in a location is that it is a place where you and your family feel happy, relaxed and comfortable. This is one of the many reasons why I normally prefer to meet at your home. We would usually start the shoot there. I don’t bring any portable studio equipment as I want the photos to be as natural as possible. Don’t worry, you don’t have to have a massive spring clean as the photos are primarily of your family, not your house! And please don’t be concerned if you think your home is too small....I don’t need loads of space to find a perfect place to shoot!

"What can I expect at the photo session?"
You can expect it to be relaxed and informal and hopefully you'll have some fun too! Please read the individual sections under 'The Experience' tab to find out more about each kind of shoot.

"How long will the session last?"
Normally around 60-90 minutes depending on the kind of shoot.....normally around 1 hour for a pregnancy shoot or headshots and sometimes up to 2 hours if more than one young child is involved! Sometimes newborn sessions can take up to 2.5 hours if the baby needs a feed or just some cuddles with mummy!

"What should we wear?"
You should wear whatever you feel most comfortable in! I will advise you about the best kind of clothing when we have our chat in the week prior to the shoot. You will also find more details about clothing under each of the individual shoot experiences.

"I’d like my husband to be involved in the shoot and he works all week – can you do weekends?"
Yes, I am available for shoots on Saturday mornings and occasionally on Sundays. These are usually busier so please do contact me as far in advance as possible.

"How many photographs will you take?"
I take a large number of photographs during the shoot (normally hundreds!) and will edit this down to around 30-40 photographs for you to view in your online gallery.

"How will I see my photographs?"
I will select the best images for your gallery, professionally finish each individual image and upload them to your own password protected web gallery on a separate website within 2 weeks of the shoot. This gives you the opportunity to look through the images in your own time and decide which you will have printed. You can also send the gallery link to your friends and relatives so they can see the photos and order any prints if they wish.

"How much do you charge?"
It’s very important to me to offer value to my clients and so therefore my prices are highly competitive. My session fee starts from just £75 and my individual print prices start from £9 for a 6x4". Please contact me if you would like me to send you my product list which includes bespoke frames, coffee table albums, canvases, greetings cards and more.

"Will I be put under any pressure to buy spend extra money on prints or products?"
No! The reason I provide online galleries is so that you get a chance to choose the images in your own time rather than being put under pressure to make a decision as you would in a studio environment. My print and product prices are very competitive. I don't give you the hard sell and my aim is for the images to sell themselves instead!

"Do you print the photographs yourself?"
No, I use one of the top professional labs in the UK who can produce a far better quality image than can be produced at home or in the high street.

"Can we buy the images from you on CD?"
Yes you can, but I'll be honest with you, it's not the best way for you to purchase your images! The reason being that I take great pride in my work and the end result (and your delight with it) is of utmost importance to me. If I just sell you the digital files of the images I have no control over the final product and if you get them printed on the high street you just won't get the best finish possible. I also can't guarantee that the images will be calibrated with their printers correctly so the colours could be incorrect and the images could print out darker or lighter than they should be.

However due to demand from my clients I do now offer high resolution images in my Portrait Collections so that you have the chance to print off a few of your favourite images as many times as you like. You can also purchase additional digital files for £35 per image including a 7x5" print.

"Do I have to tell you in advance what products I want to order?"
No, you can wait until you have seen your gallery of images before you decide what products you want to go for and which images you wish to purchase. Your session fee is payable in advance to confirm the booking, then the rest is payable when you order from your gallery.

"When will we receive the photos?"
You will receive prints within 3 weeks of your order and final payment and any other products within 5 weeks.

What sort of service can we expect from you?
I really pride myself on delivering unique, bespoke service to my customers from start to finish. I want you to enjoy the whole experience. I don't want you to be 'pleased', with the final result, I want you to be delighted and tell all of your friends! My aim is for you to come back to me year after year and for me to become your family's photographer.

"How do I book a photo session with you?"
Either contact me through the website or call me on 07872 587611. I look forward to working with you and producing some beautiful images of you and your family.
