NEWBORNS
Many people don't get professional photos of their new bundle of joy taken because of the hassle of going to a studio and because a stark studio with bright lights isn't really the best place to help you and your baby feel relaxed!
With me coming to your house, everyone can relax and we'll be rewarded with some gorgeous photos as a result. I allow up to 2.5 hours for a newborn shoot so there really is no rush and we can stop for feeding or comforting your baby. I believe a calm mum means a calm baby, so I will do everything in my power to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible! I also understand that new mums aren't feeling at their best and therefore don't want to be the focus of the shoot, however I know some great ways to ensure you are in the photos but not in an obvious way!
I bring along a variety of different blankets and a beanbag to lie your baby on, as well as some gorgeous knitted newborn hats. This means you don't need to worry about having anything available.
I will get shots of you as a new family and your baby with mummy and daddy individually too. I will also ensure that I capture all of those gorgeous little features that are so easily forgotten....the tiny little fingernails, the little curled up feet and the gorgeous wrinkled skin!
Newborns always look best when they are literally just in their birthday suit (or at most a nappy) so please make sure your home is nice and warm before the shoot so your little one doesn't get chilly! As Mum and Dad, you are best wearing black long sleeved tops so that your baby stands out when you are holding him or her against you.
We normally schedule a newborn shoot for around 10-14 days after your due date, which normally works even if your little one decides to make their appearance a little early or a little late! Obviously if you are very overdue we will reschedule for a week or so later.
